The name of this wonder is a reference to The Human Hive, one of the factions from Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri. In that game, The Human Hive is a totalitarian faction seeking to promote survival of the species through minimizing individual desires. Their leader is Chairman Sheng-Ji Yang.
